Team Mission
We are a family that began to help put an end to the mess in our towns, meet the crafty recyclers. DBS checked and first aiders.
Combining graphic design experience and the lessons from operating a stationery business—with the added plus for an unexpected love for litter picking—the combination is a mission: to empower people, (especially youngsters), to step into a posture of creativity and entrepreneurship. I am excited to the see the possibilities of Artcycle's future.
There’s so much untapped potential in rescued materials. By sparking imagination, Artcycle aims to reshape how we think about consumption. The good news is that by reshaping waste into wonder, we can flip problems into solutions.
Whilst I walk my dog in my home town of Portchester, I see the mess hiding in our hedgerows and bushes. Our world is filled with God-blessed abundance.

I’m a volunteer Education Programme and Safeguarding Lead at Artcycle. As a recent teacher training graduate, I’m deeply committed to inspiring children to create using rescued and reclaimed materials, supporting them to develop their own ideas through hands-on, creative learning.
I love helping children explore sustainability in practical and meaningful ways—encouraging them to care for their environment and understand the value of reusing and rescuing materials.
I have a particular heart for young carers and children who carry additional responsibilities, and I’m passionate about creating safe, nurturing spaces where every child feels seen, supported, and empowered. Through my work, I aim to help children build confidence, patience, independence, and respect for themselves, others, and the world around them.

I’m Claire, a Director of Artcycle, and I’m passionate about creating meaningful, creative learning experiences for children. I home educate my son and really value the freedom and flexibility this brings, allowing learning to be led by curiosity and individual interests. I
love the variety of opportunities Artcycle offers, where children can explore, experiment, and learn through hands-on creativity. I have a strong interest in education and child development and am committed to supporting inclusive, inspiring spaces where children can build confidence, discover new skills, and develop a genuine love of learning.

My aim is to inspire peers to see waste not as a problem, but as possibility. I recently qualified as a wooden boat builder where I learnt practical, problem-solving and witnessed the potential of wood and its miraculous properties to enable the creation from magnificent tree into beautiful seafaring craft.
Like the mustard seed, I know that all change starts small—with one idea, one act, one piece of someone else's rubbish reimagined and reshaped. Through our practical workshops, and as the youngest team member I can share the message of stewardship, responsibility and appreciation of all we have been blessed with.

Jolanta Januszewski
I have been knitting since the age of 10—needles in hand for almost 30 years—and combining 20 years as a graphic designer, I have found joy in stepping away from screens to be creative with my hands. Whether it’s knitting, macramé, or up cycling forgotten objects, I delight in giving materials a second life.
I especially love crafting imaginative projects with my young daughter, using recycled bits and natural treasures gathered on city or nature walks. Once its original purpose has passed—anything can be transformed into something playful, beautiful, or unexpected. For me, creative play isn’t just for children—it’s a lifelong adventure for anyone with a curious heart.

"My little girl loved it, made a great jelly fish out of an old plastic bottle, a clever little piece of art, out of somebody’s old rubbish."
